School Counseling

What do elementary school counselors do?

  • We work with parents, other school staff, and community members to respond to developmental needs of our students.
  • We meet with students individually or in groups to address emotional, social, or academic needs.
  • We develop classroom guidance lessons that teach skills such as managing worries, solving conflicts, exploring careers, and being successful in the classroom.
  • We hold master's degrees and have specialized education in psychology, counseling and child development.

During the elementary school years the knowledge, skills and attitudes that students learn serve as the foundation for all future success. Early identification and intervention of children's academic and personal/social needs are essential to promote achievement!

Please contact me during the year to discuss any concerns you have regarding your child, including his/her academic achievement, any behavioral issues, personal needs of your child, and/or family difficulties or challenges.  I look forward to working with you to help your child achieve much success!
