Education Technology
The Easton Area School District provides all students in grades K-12 with an Apple iPad to support and enhance their learning experience. At the elementary level, the District implements a modified one-to-one technology model for our youngest learners in Kindergarten through second grade. Our primary goals with this modified model are to ensure that all students have equitable access to technology, to promote a healthy balance between online and offline activities, and to gradually build students' responsibility for managing their school devices.
iPad Usage for K-2 Students
All K-2 students will be assigned an iPad for educational use.
Students in grades K-2 will keep their district iPads in secure carts within their classroom to ensure they have immediate access to their devices for in-class learning activities.
Kindergarten students will be able to take their iPads home for Flexible Instruction Days (FID) or at their teacher's discretion. To support a healthy balance, take-home use will not exceed twice per week.
First grade students will be able to take their iPads home for Flexible Instruction Days (FID) or at their teacher's discretion, with take-home use not to exceed three (3) times per week.
Second grade students will be able to take their iPads home for Flexible Instruction Days (FID) or at their teacher's discretion, with take-home use not exceeding four (4) times per week. At the end of grade 2, students will begin to take the iPad home for the summer months.
We believe this model provides the best learning environment for our K-2 students, fostering their digital literacy while also supporting their overall well-being and responsibility.
iPad Usage for Grades 3-5 Students
All students in grades 3-5 will be assigned an iPad for educational use.
Students in grades 3-5 will take the iPad home each day to be used as an extension of their classroom learning.
Students will take the iPad home for the summer months.
